It’s just easier!

It’s just easier to take over as a parent.

As a parent we tend to do things for our child/children instead of waiting for our child/children to complete the task for themselves. For example:

It’s just easier for you to tie their shoes.

It’s just easier to tell your child what to write for homework.

It’s just easier to let your child sit in front of the television.

It’s just easier to let your child use the iPad.

It’s just easier for you to carry their belongings.

It’s just easier to give in to your child when they are crying or having a tantrum.

It’s just easier to let them go to bed later rather than earlier.

It’s just easier to give in to your child no matter what it is…

…IS IT?

It will be easier in that moment, in that situation, in that circumstance, but it will not be easier in the long run.

Your child needs to learn to do all of these tasks independently, your child needs to learn NOT to cry to get what he or she wants, your child needs to learn to be independent. Then, and only then, will it be easier on you or for you!

Think about it…it is only easier in that moment, isn’t it?

Have the patience, take the time, teach your child the lessons they need to learn; then and only then, will it be easier on you!
